Most data are presented at 5ª latitude x 5ª longitude squares resolution. A small portion of data for the Pacific off Southeast Asia is presented without any geographic resolution as this information was unavailable. The distribution of recent catches is provided as a graphical overview in some maps while distribution from a historical perspective is shown in others. For ease of reference, the complete set of compiled data can be found on the diskette supplied with the Atlas. Specific data are provided therein on catches by fishing gear, species, year and quarter for 1962 to 1995.
